Stunning sash windows and a front door refurbishment for a Belgravia apartment on Ebury Street
On historic Ebury Street – where Mozart composed his first symphony in 1764 – a smart central London apartment has been carefully upgraded to match the comfort and elegance of its setting. Located above a shop on Mozart Terrace, the property sits within the Belgravia Conservation Area, governed by Article 4 restrictions, but is not listed.
When the home owners moved in, the apartment had recently been renovated, but the original windows had been left untouched. Despite the polished interiors, the flat was cold and draughty, with tired, inefficient windows that let the space down both practically and visually.
Sashed was appointed to replace all the windows, refurbish the front door, and manage the planning permission process to ensure full compliance with local conservation requirements.
Accoya sash and casement windows: understated, high performance
Sashed manufactured and installed a total of 10 sash windows and one casement window, all crafted in Accoya and painted white on both sides. The choice of materials and finishes ensured consistency with the conservation area’s strict aesthetic guidelines while delivering a step-change in thermal performance and usability.

Refurbishing the original front door
In addition to the window replacement, Sashed also carried out a full refurbishment of the front door. This included restoring the existing joinery and ensuring that all components were finished and functioning to a high standard, thereby bringing the entrance into line with the quality of the newly installed windows.
