Our lead time for items we supply and fit is usually 8 to 10 weeks. During the busy summer months, it can stretch to 11 or 12 weeks. Our lead time for supply-only items throughout the year is 8 weeks. We will provide you with a lead time when you request a quote and when placing an order. The lead time only begins once a Purchase Agreement has been signed and your deposit has been received.
This will start when the final design decisions have been made, and the production survey starts. If you have outstanding design decisions or have requested a set of CADs waiting to be signed off, this may delay your lead time.
We set the lead time to take account of many factors during the production and installation process. It is a standard lead time for everyone. We cannot speed it up.
It depends on several factors, like your property type (flat or house). If you are replacing like for like, then you usually do not need planning permission, but you should speak to your local authority. Sashed deals with planning permission applications every day. We offer free help and advice on this process and have also created this handy help guide.
Yes, here is a link to our planning permission page.
Yes. We do not recommend that you put your windows into production before your planning permission is granted. This is because the planning department could make requests up to the last minute of your permission being granted (for example, a change in the glazing specifications). At this point, their requests for changes would be too late if your windows have started to be/have been produced.
Your installation date will be offered to you when your joinery is ready, usually 2-3 weeks before your quoted lead time ends. Our surveyor will confirm this for you upon your production service.
This depends on your individual project size, for example the quantity and size of the windows. But as a general guide, two to four windows can be replaced within a day, with an extra day or two to ‘make good’. Our surveyor will confirm this for you upon your production service.
Rest assured, you will always have a window in and out on the same day. Your property will be secured and weather-covered overnight, ensuring your safety and peace of mind.

All surfaces are covered with dust sheets, and all carpets, flooring, and relevant areas are covered with a self-adhesive film. Please remove loose and delicate items from the working area. In addition, all furnishings and decor will be covered with plastic sheeting.
Please clear away any smaller, delicate items. If the furniture is blocking access to the window or door, please move it. If there are large items, just let us know.

Although it is possible to use triple glazing in sash windows, there are limitations. We are unable to use cords and weights and instead use spring/spiral balancing. It’s also not usually possible to use triple-glazed sash windows in period properties as the sash box frame is too thick to fit in typical period properties.

It may be possible to change certain elements after you have placed the order. However, most things like glass, ironmongery, and timber are ordered within the first few days and are not usually something that can be changed. All decisions must be made before placing your order.

We cover London, the South East and the Home Counties.
No. When warm/moist air is trapped inside a property, it will condense on the coolest surface in the room, which happens to be the internal surface of the double-glazed unit.
You can stop condensation by improving airflow and purging moisture from the air:
If these options are not feasible, we encourage you to speak with an independent ventilation specialist such as Venti (www.venti-group.com).
Double-glazing windows will help minimise condensation if there is adequate air ventilation. However, they will not solve the issue alone.
We do not claim that installing double-glazed windows will solve the issue of condensation (if present).
It is a legal requirement to have a DOP, a Declaration of Performance, inside every sealed glazing unit within the United Kingdom.
Yes, it includes all costs. To help the project run smoothly, please organise a permit where possible.
