Our installation services

What type of installation services do you offer?

Sashed offer two different options:
All three services come with a FENSA certificate, an insurance backed guarantee by the Independent Warranty Association (IWA), and a happy ending as standard.

About our premium service

Our experienced installation teams will ensure that the work is carried out to the highest standards and with the utmost care and consideration for your home.
Our premium installation service includes:
  • Internal protection from dust and dirt
  • Making good on both inside and outside walls to a ‘sanded and ready to paint standard’
  • New external ‘mortar pointing’ around the outer edge
  • Disposal of old items. Where possible we try to recycle
  • Cleaning and tidying up after the job
Other options such as repainting walls are available, depending on your individual requirements. As well as installing windows and doors, we can also undertake modifications to the size or shape of openings, for example, if you are replacing a sliding sash window with a French door.
When using our installation services, and as members of the FENSA scheme both your deposit and warranty are independently insured with an insurance backed guarantee policy from The Independent Warranty Association (IWA). Sashed has also been vetted and endorsed as a Which? Trusted trader.

How long will it take to installation my windows or doors?

Every home, project & window is different so its difficult to say without a visit. We can give you an approximate time frame if we visit your property. A typical Victorian bay made up of three sets of sash windows usually takes 2 days.

Do I need to take time off work?

Provided we have access, you will not need to take time off work for the installation, but just be there at the start and finish of the installation.

Do you re-paint the walls after installation?

Our normal premium installation service includes making good any plaster, masonry, or stonework on the inside and outside walls, sanded and ready to be decorated. Additional services such as re-painting and decorating can also be undertaken, depending on your requirements.

During the installation

Our installers will be undertaking building work, so be prepared for some dust and disruption during the installation. We will cover up your furniture, but please take sensible precautions and remove any valuable or breakable items away from the areas where the installers will be working. The installation team will always remove and replace a window on the same day so your house will remain secure overnight. After installing your windows or doors, the installation team will make good the inside and outside walls and ensure everything is left in a clean and tidy condition. Disposal of your old windows and doors is included in the installation price.

Guarantees and paperwork

Over and above your full consumer rights, you will receive our guarantee. This guarantee is insured by the Independent Warranty Association (IWA) for the full ten years, at no cost to you. A copy of your guarantee will be sent to you when all work is complete and all our invoices are paid. Should you move, you can pass on your guarantee to the new owner. We keep records on our side too, so a new owner can get in touch and we’ll be able to verify details and update the guarantee.

FENSA and building regulations compliance certificate

Sashed is registered with FENSA as an approved installer of windows and doors. This means when we install windows and/or doors we can register them with FENSA as compliant with building regulations without the need to involve local authority building control. When the installation is complete we will register your installation with FENSA who will create a building regulations compliance certificate and post a copy directly to you and your local authority. You should keep your FENSA certificate in a safe place as you will need to produce this if you decide to sell your property.

About our 'building site' installation service (basic installation)

If your home is undergoing extensive refurbishment and the final finishing services are not appropriate then our ‘Building Site’ installation service may be a cost-effective solution.
Our ‘Building site’ or ‘basic installation’ installation service includes the installation of our products but does not include any internal or external ‘making good’.
After the products are installed we will take the time to explain to your builder how to finish the installation and we will leave any pre-painted internal architrave and cills on site to fit to the windows after the internal plastering is complete.
