Paint & stain colour options

The four-stage treatment process

All our new products are finished to an immaculate standard and are spray painted in the factory with four coats of water-based microporous paint or stain. The use of microporous paints makes any timber impermeable to water droplets, but permeable to water vapour, keeping the rain out, but still allowing the timber to breathe. This four stage process consists of:
  1. A fungal preservation treatment
  2. Coloured sealer
  3. Coloured paint or stain
  4. A second coat of paint or stain
The top coat is semi-satin finish. You can choose traditional white or another colour from the Farrow and Ball™ or RAL colour chart. Our new windows and doors are fully finished with no need to paint for many years, typically this is 10-years on paint finishes and 5-years on stain finishes, but varies depending on exposure to the sun and rain.

Brighten up your home with Farrow and Ball™ Colours

If you’d prefer a different colour from white then you can choose to paint your windows and doors in any shade from the Farrow and Ball™ range of timeless paint colours. Now you can have your new windows in Farrow and Ball™ shades that will match your interior decor, simply tell us the name of the shade you would like.
Alternatively you can choose any colour from the RAL colour chart. The RAL colour chart has 213 standard colours, click here to see them.

Want dual colours?

We also offer a dual colour service. Choose one colour for the outside of your windows or doors and another colour for the inside. This is a great option if you want a contemporary colour on the outside of your windows but still want a neutral white on the inside.

We also do stains

Sashed offers a range of translucent stains from leading paint manufacture Teknos which add colour to the timber and allows the natural character, grain and beauty to show through. Our principal timbers are pine and meranti; both differ in colour and texture which will change the finished look of the stain.

More about water based paint

Sashed use water based paints, which are sprayed onto our products in layers. The use of water based paints for exteriors is now well established thanks to the numerous advantages in terms of life span, their excellent elasticity, and resistance to temperature shift. Not to mention the reduction of solvent emissions into the atmosphere. We do not use oil based paints, as they are not as hard waring as modern water based acrylic paints and no longer permitted in manufacturing of new products.
